Flagstick Returns to Legend Hill to Expedite Completion
September 2014
Hanoi, Vietnam: Flagstick has restarted its golf course construction management services at BRG’s Legend Hill Golf Course project in Soc Son.
Legend Hill, designed by Nicklaus Design, possesses a unique feature in which every hole has two green sites to enable the golf course to be played with varying strategy and length options.
BRG, Flagstick and Shyang Yih Construction have agreed on a revised expedited schedule which aims to complete construction of the golf course in the second quarter of 2015.
Martin Moore, President of Flagstick, said: “The schedule is very aggressive so all parties involved must focus full attention on monitoring their specific tasks, and mobilise adequate quantities of manpower and equipment to achieve our challenging schedule goals for the project, while maintaining the superior quality level that both BRG and Nicklaus Design demand.”
After a year with minimal construction activities on-site, native vegetation has covered the fairways and heavy rains washed-out shaping and left eroded gullies everywhere.
The main focus for last month was to clean up golf holes and begin installing drainage. Nicklaus Design Associate Jim Wagner will be visiting the project this month to approve shaping of the first four or five holes to prepare for irrigation staking by Prevost Stamper Irrigation (PSI).
Flagstick is working closely with all consultants and contractors to expedite progress, but it is just the start of what is to come over the next few months in making Legend Hill one of the top golfing destinations in Vietnam, and throughout Asia.
Flagstick is the world’s leader in golf course construction management with offices in both North America and Asia. Flagstick has managed over 100 golf developments in 15 different countries with many of the game’s most distinguished golf course architects.
